When Sandbar Development first came to us, one thing was immediately clear: the work spoke for itself.

Their portfolio of high-end custom homes in Gilbert, Arizona, showcased a level of craftsmanship, detail, and intentionality that placed them firmly in the upper tier of their market. The photography was polished. The builds were stunning. The experience they delivered to clients was premium.

But their brand identity wasn’t quite keeping up.

A Brand Ready for Its Next Chapter

Sandbar’s previous identity felt friendly, approachable, and full of personality. It leaned into a playful, illustrative style that made it easy to connect with at a glance.

At the same time, the brand identity felt slightly out of sync with the level of homes they create.

The core idea was there, it just needed to adjust to match their quaility of product, and their target demographic.

Keeping the Good, Reimagining the Rest

One of the strongest elements in the original identity was the concept itself: combining a home with a cactus. It ties directly to both the Arizona landscape and the type of work they do.

After talking to the client and understanding how they had been using their previous system, we realized how much equity was in the home and cactus, so rather than abandoning that concept, we chose to build from it.

We reimagined how that idea could come to life in a more refined and memorable way. The new logomark keeps that same foundation, but simplifies it down to its most essential form. Cleaner shapes, stronger balance, and a silhouette that feels instantly recognizable.

When you see the two side by side, the shift is clear. It’s the same idea, expressed with a lot more intention.

Building a System That Can Go Anywhere

With the logomark established, the next step was creating a full identity system that could support the brand across every touchpoint.

We developed:

  • A primary wordmark for core brand moments
  • A secondary wordmark for added flexibility
  • A range of lockups that bring symbol and type together seamlessly
  • Tertiary badges and graphic elements to add depth and personality
  • Supporting illustrations that extend the visual language

The goal was to create a toolkit, not just a logo. Something that could adapt to everything from a website to a job site sign without losing consistency.

A Color Palette That Feels Like Arizona

Color played a big role in bringing the new identity to life.

We leaned into a bright, western-inspired palette that reflects the warmth and energy of the Arizona landscape. Sunbaked tones, rich contrasts, and vibrant accents help the brand stand out while still feeling grounded and intentional.

It keeps the personality that Sandbar already had, but presents it in a way that feels more aligned with the quality of their work.

Taking It Beyond the Logo

Once the identity was in place, we worked with Sandbar to bring it into the real world.

Each piece plays a role in reinforcing the brand and making it recognizable across every interaction.

A Clear Evolution

The original identity had a strong idea at its core. The new identity simply builds on that idea with more clarity, confidence, and flexibility; setting the brand up for where it’s going next.

A Brand That Matches the Work

Today, Sandbar Development has a brand that feels right at home alongside the work they create.

It’s memorable, distinctive, and built to grow with them. Most importantly, it gives them a clear presence in their space, something they can truly own.

Projects like this are always about balance. Knowing what to keep, what to evolve, and how to bring everything together into something that feels both fresh and familiar.

For Sandbar Development, that balance made all the difference.
